The Rockford Fosgate P1V2-3 is a pair of 3.5-inch, 4-ohm, 3-way coaxial car speakers designed as a replacement for small factory speakers. It is intended for vehicles with single-speaker locations such as dash, door, or rear-deck positions. The integrated tweeter and piezo super tweeter add high-frequency coverage that basic factory full-range drivers may not provide.

Each pair is rated for 75 watts RMS and 150 watts peak power handling. With a 98 Hz to 25 kHz frequency response, these speakers are suited to reproducing midrange and treble detail in compact factory locations. Their 4-ohm nominal impedance is compatible with many factory and aftermarket car-audio systems.

The P1V2-3 uses a 3.5-inch mica-reinforced polypropylene curvilinear cone, Santoprene half-roll surround, and a Nomex spider. These materials are selected to support controlled cone movement and durability in a vehicle environment. A 1-inch voice coil on a vented Kapton former is used for heat dissipation during operation.

A 3/4-inch Tetolon inverted-dome tweeter and 3/8-inch polypropylene piezo super tweeter are integrated into each coaxial speaker. The internal crossover network handles the tweeter section, while the included external bass blockers reduce low-frequency content sent to the small speakers. This arrangement helps tailor the speaker for locations where deep bass is better handled by larger speakers or a subwoofer.

For fitment flexibility, the P1V2-3 includes Twist-Lock adapters for several factory-style mounting arrangements. The speaker can be installed using front-loading or rear-loading Twist-Lock configurations, each with its own mounting-depth requirement. It is a practical choice for replacing factory 3.5-inch speakers while retaining a compact, integrated installation.

The P1V2-3 combines a mica-reinforced polypropylene cone with a chemically bonded Santoprene surround and a linear Nomex spider. Its injected-molded, glass-fiber-reinforced PA66 composite basket incorporates molded terminals for secure connections. The motor uses a Y35 ferrite structure, while the voice coil uses a vented Kapton former.

Confirm the factory opening, available depth, and front-side clearance before installation. The required cutout diameter is 2.87 inches, and the included Twist-Lock adapters support front-loading and rear-loading installation methods. Use the supplied wiring hardware as appropriate, observe positive and negative terminal polarity, and check that windows, locks, and other moving vehicle parts clear the speaker before final mounting.
