The Hertz DCX87-3 Dieci Series speakers are compact 3.5-inch two-way coaxial speakers designed for vehicle locations with limited mounting space. They provide a direct speaker-upgrade option where a small round factory speaker is used. Their 4-ohm design makes them suitable for many standard car-audio speaker circuits.

Each speaker combines an 87 mm water-repellent pressed-paper woofer with a centrally mounted PEI-dome tweeter. This coaxial layout brings low and high frequency reproduction together in one compact assembly. The specified 130 Hz to 21 kHz frequency response supports clear midrange and high-frequency reproduction in a small-speaker application.

The DCX87-3 is rated for 30 watts continuous power handling and 60 watts peak power handling. Its 92 dB SPL sensitivity can help it produce useful output from modest-power factory or aftermarket sources. Match the speakers with an amplifier or receiver that is appropriate for a 4-ohm speaker load and its continuous-power rating.

Hertz uses a high-density-flux ferrite woofer magnet and a neodymium tweeter magnet in this design. The woofer uses a pure-copper voice coil wound on a Conex former, while the fabric surround is intended to support excursion and damp resonance. Tin-plated high-current terminals and silver-plated lead wires are used for dependable signal connections.

Design & Installation

The DCX87-3 uses a water-repellent pressed-paper woofer cone, fabric surround, high-density-flux ferrite woofer magnet, and neodymium tweeter magnet. Its basket is protected with abrasion-resistant dust paint, and Hertz specifies epoxy bonding between the basket and motor system. The compact speaker has a 20 mm pure-copper woofer voice coil on a Conex former.

Confirm that the vehicle accepts an approximately 87 mm round speaker and compare available clearance with the 45 mm mounting-depth dimension before installation. Use the mounting template and supplied hardware when compatible with the mounting location, and observe correct speaker polarity at the terminals.
