The Rockford Fosgate GF-4 is a pair of flush-mount protective grilles designed for compatible 4-inch Rockford Fosgate Punch speakers. It provides a clean way to finish a custom speaker installation while helping shield the speaker from incidental contact. The grille assembly installs into a panel cutout for a low-profile, integrated appearance.

These grilles are intended specifically for Rockford Fosgate P1V2-4 speakers. They are a practical choice for vehicle, marine, powersports, or custom-panel installations where the speaker needs a more finished presentation than an exposed frame. Confirm speaker compatibility and available mounting clearance before cutting the panel.

As a passive speaker accessory, the GF-4 does not add amplification, crossover functions, or power requirements to the audio system. Its role is to provide speaker coverage and a finished mounting surface around the compatible driver. The final sound character remains dependent on the installed speaker, enclosure or panel, amplification, and system tuning.

The flush-mount design uses a metal bezel and C-Backer arrangement to secure the grille assembly through the mounting panel. Keyhole-style alignment in the bezel helps position the assembly during installation, while the grille mesh snaps into keyed slots after the speaker is mounted. This creates a concealed-hardware appearance from the front of the panel.

The GF-4 can be used when upgrading or replacing the appearance of a compatible P1V2-4 speaker installation. A supplied cutout template supports accurate panel preparation, and the included hardware supports the grille assembly itself. It is best suited to installations with enough rear clearance for the specified 0.87-inch grille mounting depth.

Design & Installation

The GF-4 assembly includes grille mesh, metal bezels, flange locator rings, and C-Backers for a coordinated flush installation. The grille mesh inserts into keyed slots in the metal bezel, and the front-facing design leaves mounting hardware out of sight after assembly. Each grille assembly has a 5.61-inch outer diameter and a 4.72-inch required cutout diameter.

Use the included template to mark the cutout, then verify that wiring, window tracks, and other obstructions are clear behind the selected panel location before cutting. The C-Backer is installed behind the panel with the supplied long machine screws, followed by the metal bezel, compatible speaker, and grille mesh. For GF-4 installations using a Twist-Lock speaker flange, install the included flange locator ring around the speaker before securing it to the bezel.
