A dedicated Blend control makes it simple to adjust the pickup balance from the instrument.

Its Volume control includes a push/pull active/passive selector, allowing the active bass-boost circuit to be engaged or bypassed. In active mode, the Bass Boost control provides additional low-frequency emphasis; in passive mode, the bass remains playable without relying on the active circuit. The Jackson hardtail bridge, sealed die-cast tuning machines, and nickel-plated steel strings support a stable, conventional bass configuration. The JS2 pairs a gloss-finished poplar Spectra Bass body with a satin-finished maple neck and laurel fingerboard. Its bolt-on neck uses a scarf joint, and the 12-inch fingerboard radius is fitted with 24 jumbo frets and white-dot position inlays. Black hardware includes a Jackson hardtail bridge, sealed die-cast tuning machines, black pickup covers, and dome-style control knobs.

No vehicle-style installation is required: connect the bass to a compatible bass amplifier, pedal chain, DI box, or audio interface using a standard instrument cable. Use the Volume, Blend, and Bass Boost controls to set the pickup mix and low-end emphasis, and pull the Volume knob to bypass the active circuit when desired. A saddle-height wrench and truss-rod wrench are included; a Jackson hardshell gig bag is optional rather than included.
