The Gretsch Streamliner Jet Club Bass Single-Cut is a right-handed, four-string electric bass built around a compact 30-inch short scale. It offers an approachable playing feel for new bassists, younger players, and musicians who prefer a shorter reach than a traditional long-scale bass. Finished in Vintage White, this solid-body instrument combines familiar Gretsch styling with straightforward, practical controls.

A nato body and bolt-on nato neck form the core of the instrument, while a laurel fingerboard provides the playing surface. The Slim “C” neck profile, 12-inch fingerboard radius, and 20 medium-jumbo frets support comfortable fretting across the neck. Its genuine bone nut and sealed die-cast tuners complete a functional hardware package for everyday practice, rehearsal, and performance use.

Two Low Down single-coil bass pickups deliver the instrument's amplified voice. Individual volume controls for the neck and bridge pickups let players balance the pickups, while a master tone control adjusts the overall treble response. This setup supports warm, rounded bass sounds as well as clearer, more articulate settings without requiring complex onboard electronics.

The 30-inch scale length is a central part of the Jet Club Bass design. It shortens the distance between frets compared with many standard 34-inch basses, which can make stretches and position changes more manageable. The instrument uses nickel-plated steel strings in .040-.095 gauges, matching its short-scale configuration.

The Streamliner Jet Club Bass fits naturally into a practice, rehearsal, recording, or live bass setup when paired with suitable instrument amplification or an instrument-level recording input. Its adjustable four-saddle bridge allows string setup to be tailored for player preference. Optional Gretsch gig bag and hardshell case options are available separately for transport and protection.

Key Features

  • 30-Inch Short Scale: Provides a more compact playing reach for comfortable fretting.
  • Low Down Single-Coil Pickups: Delivers adjustable bass tone from two pickup positions.
  • Independent Pickup Volumes: Lets players blend neck and bridge pickup output.
  • Master Tone Control: Adjusts overall high-frequency response with one simple control.
  • Four-Saddle Adjustable Bridge: Supports individual string setup and intonation adjustment.
  • Genuine Bone Nut: Forms a durable string contact point at the headstock.

Design & Installation

This bass uses a gloss-finished nato solid body with a single-cut Jet body shape and no body binding. The gloss-finished bolt-on nato neck has aged white binding, while the laurel fingerboard carries pearloid Neo-Classic thumbnail inlays. Nickel hardware, a tortoise pickguard with gold Gretsch logo, and vintage-inspired knurled radio knobs complement the Vintage White finish.

Set up the instrument with an appropriate bass amplifier or instrument-level input, then use the separate neck and bridge volume controls to set pickup balance before refining the sound with the master tone knob. The four-saddle adjustable bridge can be set up for string action and intonation as needed. For carrying the bass, Gretsch lists an optional gig bag, part 0996468000, and an optional hardshell case, part 9225260000.
