The Fender Player II Precision Bass is a right-handed, solid-body electric bass designed for players who want the familiar Precision Bass format with current-production hardware and playability details. This Aquatone Blue version pairs an alder body with a maple fingerboard. Its 34-inch scale supports the standard long-scale bass playing experience.
This bass is suited to players building a straightforward live, rehearsal, recording, or practice rig around a classic split-coil pickup layout. Master volume and master tone controls keep operation direct, allowing the player to set overall output and roll off treble as needed. There is no pickup selector switch in this configuration.
The Player Series Alnico 5 split single-coil Precision Bass pickup provides the instrument's single-pickup voice. Its split-coil configuration is paired with a traditional passive-style control layout of volume and tone. The result is a focused, uncomplicated signal path for use with a bass amplifier, DI, or recording chain.
Playability centers on a maple neck with a Modern C profile, satin urethane finish on the back, and a gloss urethane headstock face. The maple fingerboard has rolled edges, a 9.5-inch radius, black dot inlays, and 20 medium-jumbo frets. A synthetic bone nut measures 1.625 inches wide.
The Player II Precision Bass can serve as a primary instrument or as a dependable foundation for a larger bass rig. Its four-saddle standard bridge, steel barrel saddles, and open-gear tuning machines support conventional setup and intonation adjustment. Fender fits it with nickel-plated steel .045-.105 gauge strings, so it is ready for standard four-string bass applications.

- Four-Saddle Bridge: Standard bridge uses single-groove steel barrel saddles.
- Open-Gear Tuners: Standard open-gear machines handle four-string tuning.
Design & Installation
The Aquatone Blue Player II Precision Bass uses an alder Precision Bass body with a gloss polyester finish, a parchment three-ply pickguard, and nickel/chrome hardware. Its maple neck is secured with a four-bolt standard construction and carries a Precision Bass headstock. Knurled flat-top control knobs, black pickup covers, and a four-bolt neck plate with an F logo complete the listed hardware details.
Set up this electric bass with a compatible bass amplification, DI, or instrument-input system and a standard instrument cable appropriate to the rest of the rig. The four-saddle bridge allows setup work, while Fender specifies a .070-inch hex wrench for saddle-height adjustment and a 3/16-inch hex wrench for the head-adjust single-action truss rod. For transport, Fender recommends its Classic Series Precision/Jazz Bass Wood Hardshell Case or FB1225 Electric Bass Gig Bag; both are sold separately.
