The Fender Player II Precision Bass is a right-handed solid-body electric bass built for players seeking the familiar Precision Bass format with current-production playability details. Finished in Polar White, this model pairs an alder body with a maple neck and slab rosewood fingerboard. Its straightforward passive control layout keeps operation simple for rehearsals, recording, practice, and live performance.
This bass is suited to players who want a focused, foundational bass voice without a complex pickup-switching system. A Player Series Alnico 5 split single-coil Precision Bass pickup supplies the instrument's single-pickup configuration. Master volume and master tone controls provide direct adjustment of output level and treble response.
The 34-inch scale length and 20 medium-jumbo frets provide the full-scale layout commonly used for electric bass. Its Modern "C" maple neck has a satin urethane finish on the back, while the headstock face has a gloss urethane finish. The 9.5-inch-radius slab rosewood fingerboard includes rolled edges for a smoother playing feel along the neck.
Its hardware is designed around practical adjustment and stable setup. The 4-saddle standard bridge uses single-groove steel barrel saddles, allowing individual string intonation adjustment. Standard open-gear tuning machines, a synthetic bone nut, and a four-bolt neck construction complete the core functional design.
As a passive electric bass, the Player II Precision Bass can connect to a bass amplifier, DI, audio interface, pedalboard, or compatible recording setup with a standard instrument cable. It is a sensible foundation for players building a bass rig around external amplification and tone shaping. A compatible Fender hardshell case or gig bag is recommended separately for transport and protection.
Key Features
- Player Series Alnico 5 Pickup: Split single-coil Precision Bass pickup delivers the model's passive bass signal.
- Alder Body: Contoured solid alder body provides the instrument's classic Precision Bass platform.
- Modern "C" Neck: Maple neck profile supports a familiar, comfortable fretting hand position.
- Slab Rosewood Fingerboard: 9.5-inch-radius fingerboard has rolled edges and 20 medium-jumbo frets.
- Adjustable 4-Saddle Bridge: Individual steel barrel saddles support string-by-string intonation adjustment.
- Open-Gear Tuners: Standard open-gear tuning machines provide conventional bass tuning hardware.
Design & Installation
The Player II Precision Bass uses a solid alder Precision Bass body with a gloss polyester finish, a maple neck, and a slab rosewood fingerboard. Nickel/chrome hardware, a 3-ply black/white/black pickguard, black pickup covers, knurled flat-top control knobs, and a four-bolt neck plate with an "F" logo complete the Polar White presentation. Fender fits it with nickel-plated steel strings in .045-.105 gauges.
No vehicle-style installation is required: this is a standalone electric bass guitar. Connect it to a bass amplifier, DI, interface, or effects chain using a standard instrument cable, then use the master volume and master tone controls to set the onboard passive signal. For transport, Fender recommends the Classic Series Precision/Jazz Bass Wood Hardshell Case or FB1225 Electric Bass Gig Bag; both are sold separately.
