The Mackie MP-240BTA is a professional in-ear monitor package combining dual-hybrid earpieces with a detachable Bluetooth adapter cable. It gives musicians, engineers, and everyday listeners a compact way to monitor audio with passive isolation in loud environments. The package also includes a traditional detachable cable for wired listening when a direct analog connection is preferred.

Its hybrid driver system uses a dynamic driver for low frequencies and a balanced-armature driver for midrange and high-frequency detail. A custom crossover divides the signal between the drivers. This configuration is designed to provide defined bass response alongside clear instrument separation for monitoring and critical listening.

Ergonomically molded, low-profile housings sit over the ear to help keep the earpieces secure while routing cables behind the head. The supplied ear-tip assortment lets users select foam, silicone, or double-flange tips in small, medium, and large sizes. A proper tip choice supports comfort, bass response, and passive sound isolation of up to 40 dB.

The included MP-BTA adapter adds Bluetooth 5 wireless connectivity for compatible phones, computers, and other Bluetooth-enabled devices. Its in-line microphone and controls support calls, music playback control, and volume adjustment. The adapter uses swiveling, detachable MMCX connections so the monitors can be changed between wired and wireless cable options.

For a stage rig, connect the braided analog cable to a headphone output, personal monitor system, wireless IEM receiver, or audio interface using its 3.5 mm plug; the included adapter supports 6.35 mm headphone jacks. For portable use, attach the MP-BTA cable, pair it with a Bluetooth source, and charge it through its Micro-B USB port. A molded hard case is included for organized storage and transport.

Design & Installation

The MP-240BTA uses black, low-profile molded earpiece housings with detachable MMCX connectors. Its wired cable is shielded and braided, while the Bluetooth adapter provides swiveling MMCX connections, an in-line microphone, and integrated controls. The included hard molded case protects the monitors and accessories between uses.

Choose the left and right earpieces, install the ear-tip type and size that creates a comfortable seal, then route the cable over each ear. Use the supplied 3.5 mm cable for analog headphone outputs, adding the included gold-plated 3.5 mm-to-6.35 mm adapter when needed. For wireless use, connect the MP-BTA cable, charge it with the included USB cable, then select “MP-BTA” from the Bluetooth menu on the source device.
