BOSS WAZA-AIR Wireless Personal Guitar Amplification System

The BOSS WAZA-AIR is an over-ear wireless personal guitar amplification system designed for private practice, jamming, and playing along with music. It combines guitar wireless, amp modeling, effects, and headphones in one portable setup. The included WL-T transmitter plugs into a compatible instrument, eliminating the need for a traditional guitar cable.

Built for guitarists who need to keep volume contained, WAZA-AIR provides a dedicated practice solution without requiring an external amplifier or speaker cabinet. Custom 50 mm drivers reproduce both processed guitar tones and Bluetooth audio playback. The headphones can connect to a smartphone or tablet for songs, backing tracks, and app-based tone editing.

WAZA-AIR uses BOSS spatial technology and an integrated gyro sensor to change the apparent position of the amp sound as the player moves. Surround, Static, and Stage ambience modes create different virtual listening environments. This gives players a more room-like presentation than conventional fixed headphone monitoring.

Its onboard guitar processing is derived from the BOSS Katana amplifier series, offering five amp types from clean to high-gain sounds. A full-range Flat/Bass/Acoustic option supports bass and acoustic-electric instruments as well. More than 50 effect types can be adjusted through the BOSS Tone Studio app, while six patches can be saved in the unit.

The system is a practical standalone practice rig for home, travel, and rehearsal preparation. Bluetooth audio controls and patch buttons are available directly on the headphones for everyday use without constantly reaching for a mobile device. Optional BOSS wireless foot controllers can expand hands-free control of assigned functions and patches.

Design & Installation

WAZA-AIR uses an over-ear headphone design with custom 50 mm drivers, conforming earpads, and a wide headband. The headphones feature a durable construction with chrome-plated metal parts. Their two-way folding design and swiveling earcups allow more compact storage or flat transport.

For setup, charge both the headphones and included WL-T transmitter with suitable 5 V USB power. Insert the WL-T into a compatible guitar output jack, then use the WAZA-AIR transmitter-in jack to complete the auto wireless connection procedure. Pair a smartphone or tablet by Bluetooth for audio playback and use the BOSS Tone Studio app to edit tones, manage patches, and adjust system settings.
