JBL CLUB-194T 3/4" Edge-Driven Dome Tweeters

The JBL CLUB-194T is a pair of 3/4-inch edge-driven dome tweeters designed to add focused high-frequency detail to a car audio system. They are suited to replacing worn factory tweeters or building a component-style speaker upgrade. The compact format supports placement in many common factory and custom locations.

With 50 watts RMS and 150 watts peak power handling, these tweeters are intended for systems using a compatible head unit or external amplifier. Their 92dB sensitivity rating at 2.83V helps them work efficiently in an automotive environment. The 3.0-ohm nominal impedance should be considered when matching them with an amplifier or crossover network.

The CLUB-194T covers a specified frequency range of 3kHz to 20kHz, concentrating on upper-midrange and treble information rather than bass. This makes it a practical companion for door, dash, or kick-panel midrange speakers that handle the lower frequencies. An included in-line crossover pigtail is supplied for each tweeter.

JBL's edge-driven dome design is paired with a compact 19mm tweeter size for installations where space is limited. The package includes multiple mounting pieces so installers can choose a surface, flush, or Starfish-adapter approach. This flexibility can help retain a clean appearance when upgrading factory speaker locations.

The supplied Starfish mounts are designed for placement behind factory grilles and for varied mounting arrangements, including locations such as an A-pillar. The I-Mount hardware adds flush- and surface-mount options, with an angled flush-mount position available. Together, the included hardware supports a tailored installation without requiring every vehicle to use the same mounting method.

Design & Installation

Each CLUB-194T uses a compact edge-driven dome tweeter assembly measuring approximately 32.5mm across and 16.8mm high. The package includes two tweeters, flush-mount cups, threaded flush-mount adapters, surface-mount cups, Starfish mounts, plastic locking nuts, spacers, washers, and screws. These parts provide several mechanical mounting choices from one product package.

For a flush I-Mount installation, JBL specifies a 1-3/4-inch cutout and 1-inch mounting depth; the flush-mounted tweeter can be angled up to plus or minus 40 degrees. Use the supplied in-line crossover pigtails when wiring the tweeters, and observe polarity markings during connection. Confirm available mounting clearance, amplifier compatibility with a 3.0-ohm load, and suitable crossover integration before installation.
