AUDIO360 AD0C 0 AWG Amplifier Wiring Kit $78.00
Bundle total: $207.49

The Fender Mustang Micro Plus is a compact headphone guitar amplifier and USB recording interface that plugs directly into an instrument’s 1/4-inch output. It is designed for quiet practice, travel, and direct recording without requiring a conventional amplifier or speaker cabinet. Connect wired headphones or earbuds to hear modeled amp and effect sounds privately.

It is suited to guitarists who want quick access to a broad range of clean, driven, and high-gain sounds in a small format. The unit provides 25 guitar amp models and 25 onboard effect models, with presets that combine amp and effects processing into ready-to-play signal paths. A firmware update also adds 10 bass amp models for bass players.

Mustang Micro Plus stores 100 presets, including 70 factory presets and 30 empty locations for user-created sounds. Its integrated display shows preset information, EQ, modify, save, and tuner functions, while dedicated controls allow adjustments without opening an app. Nine post-processing EQ profiles provide additional overall tonal shaping.

Bluetooth 5.1 connectivity supports audio streaming from a compatible mobile device or computer, letting players practice along with music or instructional video audio through wired headphones. The Fender Tone app for iOS and Android supports deeper preset editing, backup, and preset sharing. Bluetooth audio and the instrument signal are controlled through the headphone output for a simplified personal practice setup.

The USB-C port charges the internal lithium-ion battery, supports firmware updates, and sends audio to a Mac or PC for recording. The device delivers 30 mW per channel into headphones rated at 16 ohms or greater, and its rotating 1/4-inch input plug accommodates many guitar and bass jack positions. It works as a self-contained practice solution or as a compact front end for computer-based recording.

Key Features

  • 25 Guitar Amp Models: Provides a range of modeled amp voices for clean, edge-of-breakup, and high-gain playing.
  • 25 Effect Models: Includes stompbox, modulation, delay, and reverb effects for building complete preset sounds.
  • 100 Preset Slots: Stores 70 factory presets plus 30 empty locations for custom presets.
  • Integrated Tuner And Display: Shows preset and editing information while providing onboard chromatic tuning.
  • Bluetooth Audio Streaming: Streams audio from a compatible device for headphone-based play-along practice.
  • USB-C Recording Interface: Sends the processed instrument signal to compatible Mac or PC recording software.

Design & Installation

Mustang Micro Plus is a black digital headphone amplifier measuring 3.15 inches high, 1.5 inches wide, and 1.21 inches deep, with a weight of 1.9 ounces. It has no speaker cabinet, grille cloth, handle, or amplifier covering because it is designed as a direct headphone device rather than a traditional combo amp. The rotating mono 1/4-inch plug turns up to 270 degrees to help position the unit around different instrument jack locations.

For use, rotate the built-in plug into a guitar or bass output jack, connect wired headphones or earbuds to the 1/8-inch stereo headphone jack, and begin with the master volume set low. Charge with the included USB-C cable, pair a compatible Bluetooth device when desired, or connect USB-C to a Mac or PC for recording and firmware updates. The unit enters low-power sleep mode after 15 minutes when no instrument input is detected.
