The Shure AONIC 215 Gen 2 is a true wireless in-ear earphone system built around Shure SE215 detachable Sound Isolating earphones and RMCE-TW2 secure-fit adapters. This blue version, model SE21DYBL+TW2, provides a cable-free listening option for music, calls, commuting, exercise, and everyday portable use. Its over-ear fit helps keep the earphones positioned securely during movement.

A single dynamic MicroDriver in each earphone delivers a frequency range of 21 Hz to 17.5 kHz with 107 dB SPL/mW sensitivity. The sound-isolating sleeves create a physical seal that can reduce outside noise by up to 37 dB. This helps listeners hear more of their audio without relying on active noise cancellation.

The included Gen 2 true wireless adapters use Bluetooth 5.0 and support Qualcomm aptX, AAC, and SBC codecs. They provide up to 8 hours of listening per charge, while the charging case supplies three additional full charges for up to 32 hours total playback. Four beamforming microphones, with two on each side, support stereo phone and video calls.

Environment Mode uses the built-in microphones to bring surrounding sound into the earphones when awareness is needed. It can be activated with the adapter buttons, while the ShurePlus PLAY app provides adjustable Environment Mode levels, EQ settings, button customization, prompts, and firmware updates. The earphones and adapters are IPX4 rated for sweat and water resistance, though they are not designed for submersion.

The AONIC 215 Gen 2 also keeps the SE215's MMCX detachable connection. The bundled earphones can be removed from the wireless adapters and connected to compatible MMCX cable accessories sold separately when a wired connection is preferred. This makes the system useful for listeners who want both true wireless convenience and the option to use compatible wired Shure accessories.

Design & Installation

The translucent blue SE215 earphones use a low-profile, over-ear design with detachable MMCX connectors. Soft Flex and foam sleeves in small, medium, and large sizes are included to help establish a stable in-ear seal. The earphones and wireless adapters are rated IPX4 for sweat and water resistance; the charging case is not water resistant.

No vehicle installation or external amplifier is required. Attach the earphones to the left and right RMCE-TW2 adapters, select the sleeve size that seals comfortably, charge the case with the included USB-C cable, and pair the system as “Shure AONIC TW2” from a phone, tablet, or computer. For alternate wired use, disconnect the earphones carefully at the MMCX connectors and attach compatible optional MMCX cable accessories.
