RØDE NTH-100 Professional Over-Ear Headphones

The RØDE NTH-100 is a wired professional over-ear headphone designed for critical listening, recording, editing, mixing, and everyday content-production work. It gives creators a dedicated monitoring option when they need to hear details clearly without relying on consumer-tuned headphones. Its circumaural design and passive isolation also make it practical for podcasting, streaming, and location recording.

Custom-matched 40 mm dynamic drivers are engineered for an accurate frequency response, low distortion, and a natural sound character. With a 5 Hz–35 kHz frequency response, 32-ohm impedance, and 110 dB/V sensitivity, the NTH-100 is suited to interfaces, mixers, headphone amplifiers, and many devices with a 3.5 mm headphone output. The broad response and detailed presentation support critical monitoring tasks such as balancing dialogue, checking edits, and reviewing mixes.

Comfort is a central part of the NTH-100 design for creators who wear headphones through extended sessions. Alcantara earcup and headband cushions combine with memory foam and CoolTech gel, which is designed to absorb and dissipate heat. This construction helps reduce heat buildup and wearing fatigue during longer recording, editing, or listening sessions.

The acoustic construction uses a custom voice coil with a four-layer ultra-high-tension aluminum-alloy core, an ultra-stiff triple-layer Mylar diaphragm, a rare-earth neodymium magnet, and a phase plug. These components work within RØDE's contoured earcup design to support detail, clarity, and controlled phase response. Circumaural ear coupling and rated ambient-noise attenuation of 20 dBA help keep outside distractions lower while monitoring.

The NTH-100 fits easily into a desktop studio, podcast setup, mobile recording kit, or editing workstation. Its removable 2.4 m cable can connect to either earcup, allowing the cable to be routed to the preferred side of a workstation or recording position. A supplied 3.5 mm to 1/4-inch adapter expands compatibility with professional audio interfaces, mixers, and headphone distribution systems.

Design & Installation

The NTH-100 combines a high-strength spring-steel headband with a scratch-resistant coating, contoured earcups, Alcantara cushions, memory foam, and CoolTech gel. Its earcups provide bi-directional adjustment, while the FitLok system allows the headband size to be set and locked. The cable, ear cushions, and headband cushion are user replaceable for serviceability over time.

Connect the bayonet end of the included cable to either earcup and twist it clockwise to lock it in place; use the supplied rubber seal to close the unused earcup port. Connect the other end to a 3.5 mm headphone output, or install the included screw-on 1/4-inch adapter for compatible studio equipment. Start with source volume low and raise it gradually, particularly when connecting to a mixer, interface, or headphone amplifier.
