Rockford Fosgate P3V2-25 2.5" Midrange Component Speakers

The Rockford Fosgate P3V2-25 is a pair of 2.5-inch component midrange drivers designed for center-channel duties or use within a three-way car audio system. It is intended for vehicles that use separate tweeter, midrange, and woofer locations rather than a single full-range speaker. Each driver uses a 4-ohm nominal impedance and is rated for 75 watts RMS.

These speakers focus on the vocal and instrument range that helps connect low-frequency woofers with dedicated tweeters. Their specified 135 Hz to 15 kHz response range supports detailed midrange reproduction when installed with the supplied filtering or an appropriately configured active crossover. This makes them a practical choice for restoring or upgrading a factory three-way arrangement.

The included passive midrange networks use a 600 Hz high-pass filter and 6 kHz low-pass filter, each at 6 dB per octave. This band-pass arrangement helps direct the intended frequency range to the compact midrange drivers. An optional pass-through connection allows the internal filter to be bypassed for compatible active-system setups.

Rockford Fosgate includes Twist-Lock speaker adaptors to support flexible front- or rear-loading installation approaches. The package also includes 33 µF non-polarized bass-blocker capacitors, which install in-line on the positive speaker lead to attenuate frequencies small midrange drivers do not reproduce accurately. A 2.54-inch cutout requirement and compact mounting depths help with placement planning.

The P3V2-25 is best used as one part of a complete system, paired with separate tweeters and midbass woofers. It includes the wiring extensions, passive crossovers, adaptors, template, terminals, and mounting hardware needed for the midrange installation. Grilles and trim rings are not included.

Design & Installation

The P3V2-25 uses compact 2.5-inch midrange drivers with mica-reinforced polypropylene cones and Santoprene rubber surrounds. Each driver has a 1-inch midrange voice coil, while the supplied component package adds passive crossover networks, extension cables, and Twist-Lock adaptors. The speakers do not include grilles or trim rings.

Confirm a 2.54-inch cutout and sufficient clearance before installation. With the supplied Twist-Lock adaptor, rear-loading depth is 1.47 inches and front-loading depth is 1.60 inches; front-side clearance is 0.26 inches. Use the supplied crossover network for passive operation, or use its pass-through option only with a properly configured active crossover system.
