The Cerwin-Vega V46 is a pair of 4" x 6" 2-way coaxial car speakers made for replacing factory-installed speakers or building a compact vehicle audio upgrade. Designed for drivers who want more detail and presence from an existing audio system, the V46 combines a dedicated silk dome tweeter with a hybrid carbon fiber/polypropylene woofer cone. This arrangement is intended to reproduce highs, midrange information, and bass content from a single mounting location. Its 87 Hz–20 kHz frequency response and 86 dB sensitivity provide useful specifications for matching the speakers to compatible vehicle audio equipment.

The woofer uses a hybrid carbon fiber/polypropylene cone paired with a Santoprene rubber surround. The cone construction is designed for controlled sound reproduction, while the rubber surround supports cone movement and long-term durability. A strontium ferrite woofer magnet provides the motor structure for the low- and mid-frequency driver.

For high-frequency reproduction, each V46 uses a dynamically balanced silk dome tweeter with a neodymium magnet. An integrated crossover directs the appropriate frequency range to the tweeter and woofer. Built-in tweeter protection is included to help safeguard the tweeter during higher-volume operation.

The V46 uses a powder-coated rigid stamped-steel basket, hybrid carbon fiber/polypropylene cone, Santoprene rubber surround, silk dome tweeter, neodymium tweeter magnet, and strontium ferrite woofer magnet. These parts are integrated into a 2-way coaxial speaker assembly. No grilles are included.

Measure the available mounting location before installation. Each speaker requires a 5.71" x 3.50" cutout and 1.75" of mounting depth, with an overall footprint of 6.10" x 4.02" and a 2.11" overall height. Use vehicle-appropriate mounting hardware and wiring connections, and confirm that the connected head unit or amplifier is compatible with a 4-ohm speaker load.
