The VOXX RVMDVR is a replacement rearview mirror with an integrated DVR and a 9.88-inch high-brightness display. It combines forward video recording with a live camera-viewing screen in a format that fits at the windshield mirror location. This makes it a practical upgrade for drivers who want recorded driving footage and a larger digital camera view without adding a separate dash-mounted monitor.

A front camera is included for continuous driving video capture, while the mirror also provides an input for an optional rear camera. The display can show the front camera, rear camera, or a split-screen view when a rear camera is connected. This arrangement supports both everyday video documentation and a more adaptable rearward viewing setup.

The RVMDVR is designed around clear visual operation rather than audio-system integration. Its recording settings include 1080P and 2K resolution options, and the mirror can automatically begin recording when the ignition is turned on. Continuous loop recording helps maintain available storage by replacing older non-protected recordings when the memory card becomes full.

For incident documentation, the built-in G-sensor can detect an impact and create a locked event file that is not overwritten during normal loop recording. The mirror also includes manual event locking and snapshot controls, giving the driver direct access to preserve important footage. Built-in GPS supports GPS status and optional speed display settings for recorded video.

The system includes a 32GB microSD card and supports cards up to 256GB for users who need longer recording capacity. Parking Mode can record while the vehicle is parked, with adjustable sensitivity, time-lapse recording options, and battery low-voltage protection. It is suited for professionally installed vehicle upgrades where a compatible mirror mount and clean hardwired power connection can be provided.

Design & Installation

The RVMDVR uses a rearview-mirror form factor with an integrated display, front camera connection, touch-oriented on-screen controls, and a microSD card slot on the bottom of the mirror. Its display brightness can be adjusted from the interface, while image orientation settings allow front and rear camera images to be flipped or mirrored as needed. The included 32GB microSD card provides storage out of the box.

Installation mounts the mirror to an OEM windshield mirror mount using the universal wedge mount when compatible; some vehicles require a mounting adapter. The harness requires constant 12-volt, accessory 12-volt, and ground connections, while the included front camera and an optional rear camera connect to their designated inputs. A qualified installer is recommended for proper mirror fitment, hardwired parking-mode operation, and rear-camera routing.
