JVC SP-PA5BT Portable Wireless Speaker

The JVC SP-PA5BT is a compact portable wireless speaker designed for music playback at home, outdoors, or on the go. It combines Bluetooth streaming with USB audio and an AUX input, giving users several ways to play music from compatible devices. This speaker is suited to listeners who want a small, self-contained audio solution without requiring a vehicle stereo, amplifier, or permanent installation. Its Bluetooth 5 connection supports wireless playback from compatible phones, tablets, and media players within a stated line-of-sight range of approximately 33 feet. A built-in microphone also enables hands-free phone calls while connected by Bluetooth.

The SP-PA5BT uses two 2-inch full-range speakers and two 2.5-inch passive speakers in a cylindrical enclosure. JVC rates the system at a maximum output of 20 watts into 3 ohms. Physical playback controls provide access to volume, track navigation, play/pause, and mode selection directly on the speaker.

For added atmosphere, the speaker includes RGB LED illumination with four modes, including off. Its IPX5 rating provides water resistance for use around splashes and light water exposure. The integrated 2,000mAh rechargeable battery is rated for up to five hours of playback and charges through USB-C.

The SP-PA5BT can operate as a standalone speaker or be paired with a second matching SP-PA5BT through True Wireless Stereo mode. This lets two units play together as a stereo pair for wider sound coverage. With Bluetooth, USB-A music playback, and a wired AUX connection, it can fit into a simple portable audio setup using devices you already own.

Design & Installation

The SP-PA5BT has a portable cylindrical design measuring 3.6 inches in diameter and 9.5 inches long. It includes two full-range speakers, two passive speakers, integrated controls, a microphone, multicolor lighting, and a carrying strap. The IPX5-rated enclosure is intended for portable use where water-splash resistance is useful.

No vehicle installation, amplifier, or speaker wiring is required. Charge the speaker through its USB-C port using a compatible 5V/1A to 5V/3A USB power source, then connect by Bluetooth, plug in a USB flash drive, or use the included AUX cable. For TWS playback, a second SP-PA5BT speaker is required.
